The room and its services are great. I’ve been in Eastin Hotel in 2000 till 2003. After 14 years, so many better amenities had been added. at a glance, they are fitted of modernization which something noticeable by most of the guest.
The Eastin chain of hotels is definitely doing something right and wonderful. So far I have been blessed to stay in the Penang and PJ branches and I must say that the standard is the same where ever. The wonder thing is that there would be a Vino Vino outlet just around the corner where I can have my beers, wine and skewered BBQ.
Second stay at this property, some years after the first. This is a hotel aimed at businessmen but perfectly acceptable for tourists too. As such there are free buses provided for the main office regions, as well as free shuttle transport to KL Sentral, KLCC and other tourist areas. Do bear in mind that these shuttles do get fully booked so book as far in advance as you can. There is also a free daily excursion which varies from day to day. Worth doing. The location of this hotel isn’t ideal for tourism but a taxi to the nearest LRT will set you on your way. If you have a car it’s fine anyway with plenty of free parking. bangsar with it’s many clubs and bars is just a ten minute drive away. Driving from the airport takes around 45 minutes. Check in was straightforward and we were lucky enough to be allocated a room on the executive (17th) floor. These rooms are very spacious with a separate seating area. A TV is provided in this area as well as the main bedroom space. The bathroom was fine with a standalone, albeit dated (no monsoon showerhead) shower cubicle and a tub. The one problem we encountered was replenishment. The provided bath gel ran out after a couple of days and despite informing reception of this it wasn’t replaced until the middle of the next day. Fortunately we always carry our own just in case. The towels were good and bathrobes and slippers are also provided. Breakfast here was fine although at times the table clearance was a little slow. There is a nice pool area which doesn’t get much use midweek and a well equipped gym. I’d definitely visit again as I find driving in KL is OK if you have your wits about you and aren’t too timid.
I was in KL over the weekend and stayed in Eastin Hotel. It was very quiet as the offices are closed over the weekend but I suppose it should be crowded during the weekdays. After all, its a business hotel. Location wise its quite far from KL city, you will need to take a cab. The hotel provides very limited shuttle to the city but taxis are very accessible. The deluxe room was pretty spacious with a study table and a couch to sit on. There were sufficient TV channels to choose from, especially sports. Bathroom seemed kind of old but still oozed quality. Normal drinks at the bar a little on the pricey side. Gym and pool facilities available, I had the whole pool to myself on a Sunday morning. It was awesome to just relax in the pool while listening to the birds chirping.
